Philantrophy

"Philanthropy" comes from the Greek philo ("love") and anthropos ("humanity," or "people"). Most simply, it's defined as giving time, money and resources to make life better for other people.

Philantrophy is why the WNS Clubhouse exists

The WNS clubhouse only exists because of the generous contributions of time, energy, resources, and material by our local community.

Between the idea of building the clubhouse and opening its door in 2023 over 12 years have passed, overcoming a multitude of obstacles and successfully moving through all the various project stages. The people involved in this project have moved mountains.

This includes over $500,000 in donated labour and materials, on top of $140k from the federal government and $60k from council.

So the understanding of what it means to give is literally built into the very foundation of the WindanSea.

Philantrophy is what we pass on

Now that the 'project' WNS Clubhouse is open and being used by a variety of different clubs, groups and businesses, this can be truly marked as a very successful, and unique milestone for a volunteer organisation. Being open and operational also means shifting from the receiving party to the one who pays it forward.

The WNS Clubhouse is a Not-for-Profit organisation. Beyond maintaining the Clubhouse to a high standard and covering all costs involved, this means the resources and 'profits' gained can be generously invested, passed on, and contributed towards sponsorship opportunities.

Philantrophy in action - WNS involvements

Since opening it’s doors in 2023 the WNS Clubhouse has generously contributed to and supported the following organisations/ causes:

  1. Caloundra Women’s Branded Marquee and flags

  2. Special School Bean Bags & $1800 donation

  3. Providing discounts to Health & Wellbeing microbusinesses around 10K per annum
