2011
Around 2011, the idea for a dedicated WindanSea Community Clubhouse first took shape, the starting point of a twelve-year journey to opening day in 2023.
2014
In 2014, members Tim Hindley, Brad Williams and Rich Graves presented concept drawings for the Clubhouse, showing the community how the long-planned project was progressing.
2022
Construction began in 2022, with builders Darryl Cook, Don Smith and Mick Vaisnys leading a project built largely through volunteer labour and community donations.
Today
Today, the well-established Clubhouse is a thriving community hub, hosting surf clubs, health and wellbeing businesses, private functions and events across Caloundra.
2013
In 2013, WindanSea drafted its first Clubhouse business plan, setting out the vision, structure and case for the facility long before construction began.
2021
In 2021, WindanSea won its Planning Court appeal against Council, clearing the final legal hurdle and giving the green light for construction to begin.
2023
The WindanSea Community Clubhouse officially opened on 1 July 2023 at Currimundi's Buderim Street, the culmination of more than a decade of community effort.
2032
Looking ahead to 2032, WindanSea hopes to play a role in Brisbane's Olympics, envisioning the Clubhouse as a training base for international surf teams.
