A beautiful, serene and quality space, planned and built by the local surfing community with developing and growing the local surfing community in mind.
The WindanSea Community Clubhouse is an inclusive clubhouse facility for the local and surfing community of the Caloundra area.
And most of all it is the home base of the WindanSea Boardriders Club Inc.
The facility is available for hire for organisations, community groups, council and individuals whose businesses and offerings align with the core purpose of the clubhouse.
The Clubhouse is a shared community space, run by a volunteer management committee of representatives from the Windansea Surf Club and the wider surfing community.
We appreciate a respectful and ethical presence during its use.
Run by the Community, for the Community
The Clubhouse is run by a volunteer management committee of representatives from the WindanSea Surf Club and the wider surfing community.
After construction, the Clubhouse was gifted to Sunshine Coast Council by WindanSea under a lease-back arrangement that requires WindanSea Surf Club to undertake ongoing management by an appointed clubhouse committee operating under a WindanSea Surf Club constitutional bylaw.
Whilst surfing is the primary purpose, our health and wellbeing clients run a wide range of sessions, half days, full days and weeklong events for yoga, pilates, meditation, mental health counselling, singing, crafts, reading, local historians and even table tennis!

The WindanSea Clubhouse is a versatile, modern venue, built in 2023 and continuously upgraded to meet best practice to ensure the facility is always set up and equipped for a wide range of events and purposes.
The main hall has room for 99 people and a large Smart TV with connectivity. Pulling out the complimentary folding bench tables and lightweight yet comfortable folding chairs can make this the perfect venue for training, presentations and meetings.
The boardroom features a large wooden table and a large Smart TV with connectivity, and is a perfect choice for a business meeting in a casual yet professional environment.
A kitchen with multiple benches, kitchen utensils and other useful things, plus an urn, microwave and large fridge, allows for easy self-catering or a dedicated space for your catering team to perform.

Main Hall
The main hall is a versatile, purpose-built space within the WindanSea Community Clubhouse, completed in 2023. The interior is bright and modern, with a choice of breezes through wide-open or fly-screened doors, ceiling fans or air-con to control the climate.
Featuring a large Smart TV screen, the hall is suited to larger meetings, presentations, events and training workshops, as well as sporting and surfing competitions, health and wellbeing offerings, community activities and select private events.

The Boardroom
A generous boardroom featuring a large timber boardroom table, a Smart TV and a mobile whiteboard.
Ideal for committee and business meetings, small group sessions and training workshops.
Includes access to the facility kitchen and toilets, as well as the main hall and breakout space.
Max capacity: 12 adults or lots of grommets
Hire Rates
Financial Year 26-27: $66/hr inc. GST
Rates increase or fall annually in accordance with CPI as per SCC guidance at the discretion of the WindanSea executive.

To apply to hire the clubhouse follow the steps through the booking system and provide all required information
When booking you must read and acknowledge all applicable WindanSea Surf club committee management policies that includes WindanSea constitution bylaws, developed and adopted policies including Child Safety, Alcohol, Behaviour, Mental Health, Cyber Security as well as Local Government and Common Laws. Applicants will need to provide public liability insurance, personal identification documents, blue cards where children are present and others as required.
Before You Book
To make sure your event is a good fit for the Clubhouse, please read the key conditions below and the full policies before sending your booking enquiry.
The Essentials
Hours: 6am to 10pm, including your set-up, pack-down and cleaning time.
Insurance: Hirers need $20 million public liability cover, with a Certificate of Currency supplied when booking.
Food: Self-catering is welcome, but no cooking inside the Clubhouse
Alcohol: BYO is welcome at private events, inside the Clubhouse only. Alcohol can't be sold, and can't be taken into the surrounding park or foreshore. See the Alcohol Policy for details.
Smoke-free: No smoking inside or within 4 metres of the entrances.
Children: Activities involving under-18s must meet Blue Card requirements, and children must be supervised by adults at all times.
Leave it as you found it: Hirers clean, pack away, lock up and take their rubbish with them. Cleaning fees apply otherwise.
Outdoor areas: Using any space outside the Clubhouse needs a Sunshine Coast Council permit.
The Management Committee will consider all client hire activity proposals on their merits in accordance with legal boundaries, hire precedents and common sense. The committee, as acting under the authority of the WindanSea executive has final and complete discretion to approve or deny any application.
