Caloundra, since 1973

WindanSea Boardriders Caloundra is the club that proudly gets to call the WNS clubhouse home. With a longstanding history of over five decades it is the only WindanSea Surf Club chapter left outside the United States, carrying on the iconic name of the WindanSea Surf Club, La Jolla, Ca.

With 170+ members, more than half of them juniors, the club runs monthly comps, junior training and hosts the iconic Pa & Ma Bendall Memorial Contest every Easter, which has launched the careers of surfers like 2012 world champion Joel Parkinson.

The WNS Boardriders & the WNS Clubhouse

In 2014, members of the WindanSea Boardriders Caloundra set out on a project that would take almost a decade of dedication, resilience and patience: a clubhouse to call home. A committed team of WNS Boardriders members gave their time, skills and often their own materials to the build, navigating years of council process, including a win in the Planning Court, before construction could finally begin in 2022.

In 2023, the WindanSea Community Clubhouse officially opened its doors. Since then, it has become an integral part of the club, serving the wider local surfing community and giving local businesses a place to offer their services and host events.
