Peerless surfing heritage / strong club culture
The WindanSea carries a rich history. The connections to the original WindanSea La Jolla, California, an over 50-year old, established surf club, as well as the demonstration of determination and perseverance in building the WNS Clubhouse in Caloundra.
WindanSea have remarkable stories to tell and serve an example of what can be achieved when community, philanthrophy, and savvy minds join forces.
Meet the Local Surf Community
Caloundra hosts a lively surfing community with a multitude of annual surf events and championships.
Our surf culture is famous for being the home of surf legends Ma and Pa Bendall, as well as proud home turf for world champion Joel Parkinson.
You can find some well established surf clubs, such as our own WindanSea Boardriders, sharing the lineup across various breaks all year round.
